Today on Anna Maria Island one visitor caused great excitement among the Meilner family when newborn baby Evan Talucci came home for the first time. Grandfather Don who should have been working on 4 new homes for Anna Maria Vacations took the day off so he could welcome mother Amy and Evan home. Joann was quick to point out the Evan had nice long muscular legs unlike his granddad who is somewhat on the squat side. Don immediately emailed a photo of himself holding the baby to everyone he knew and it was quite plain even from the back of Don’s head that his smile reached from one ear to the other. Evan at first glance seems to be the splitting image of father Nathen who also took the day off work from helping Don build the four new homes that are expected to be completed by Christmas. No doubt they will both work Sundays now to catch up instead of taking their boat out for a lazy breakfast.

Daughter of a long time Anna Maria Island resident Don Meilner gave birth to a baby boy Evan Talucci on Saturday night at 10.19.
Mother Amy and proud father Nathen are over the moon, as are grand parents Joann and Don and great granddad Don Meilner senior. Don and Joann are now waiting to spoil little Evan rotten although they will deny ever doing such a thing.

Anna Maria Island is open for business having missed the worst of hurricane Wilma, apart from a few high winds and some heavy rain everything will soon be back to normal. Hopefully the weather will put an end to the so called red tide which the press made a meal of. Yes its been troublesome this year but still thousands of people have enjoyed the island as the problem comes and goes and hopefully we will not see it again for several years

The island has beautiful sandy beaches, great restaurants and lots of things to do. The four new houses that are being built on the island are on schedule to come into the Anna Maria Vacations portfolio by Christmas. These superb brand new vacation homes will be available for rental as from mid December.
